Brant Christian School Goes Alternative
September 2005 News
Under the guidance of Vic Wiens Consulting, the Brant Christian School signed an alternative program agreement with the Palliser School Division in September 2005. Mrs. Corry Brown, the principal at Brant Christian School, and Mr. Garry Andrews, superintendent of the Palliser School Division are both pleased with this agreement.
Alternative status transforms an independent Christian school into a Christian program of a public school board. There are many issues to be worked through before a Christian school signs such an agreement. Guiding Christian schools through the exploration process of going alternative is one of the specialties of Vic Wiens Consulting.
The key advantage of alternative status is a significant increase in government funding, but such an arrangement is not without its risks. Vic Wiens Consulting guided the Brant Christian School Society Board of Directors through an assessment of each risk. Vic Wiens Consulting is now involved with guiding the Society in developing strategies to significantly reduce those risks.
